Second Sunday of Advent
Do you celebrate Advent? We have as a family in the past! It's such a wonderful time of looking inward and preparing our hearts for Jesus' coming as a baby. Yes, we know He came already, but to take the time out of our busy, busy schedules, and maybe our too busy thoughts, to prepare our hearts to celebrate His birth! This is so important!
Luke 2:14 reminds us that Jesus comes to bring peace on earth! We hear it in a lot of Christmas Carols, don't we? That's one kind of peace, that is incredibly important, especially in these days and in the future. But Jesus also came to give us personal peace! John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." These are Jesus' very own words to his disciples and even though we didn't live back in Jesus time, we are still His disciples today! What a promise! Maybe you can take a moment with your coffee or tea, or with your family and read these wonderful scriptures and think about how God brings us that peace that we so long to have, how we can pray to Him and ask for that peace as it's right there and ready to be given from our great God! We pray that God brings us the hope of peace as we go through this wonderful time of Advent!
